JILLY'S ROCKWORLD - HOME OF MANCHESTER'S ROCK & ALTERNATIVE COMMUNITY
ARTWORK

Recent visitors will have noticed the addition of some artwork to the reception area, and artwork in the main room and room 1. We hope you like them! This is part of a ongoing project that has seen the decoration of the club updated and revitalised.
You may now be wondering just who the artists are. So we thought we'd provide a few details for you.
We are still looking for artists to get involved in the project. If you'd like to contribute please contact Nerissa for further details:

Sarah Terry
Biography:
I specialise in hand embroidery, but have a wide skills base, including drawing and painting. I create one off art pieces, and more functional work, customising clothes and accessories, mural work and illustration.
My inspirations include nature, politics and street art. I work mainly with juxtapositions, such as life/death, beauty/horror and male/female. I enjoy bright colours and pattern, and often work intuitively by piecing together fabrics in a collage style, which I then embellish and embroider onto.
At the moment, pieces of my work are in exhibitions and collections all over the world, including the USA and Australia, and now in Jillys! I have also undertaken art workshops with young children, and enjoy passing my skills base onto others. At the moment, I have a weekly stall every Saturday at the Market Tavern as part of the Hidden Urban Project (www.myspace.com/hiddenurbanmarket).
I am available for all sorts of commission/projects, all work considered.

Carly Hughes CC
My work typically incorporates a mixture of photography, drawing, painting and collage. With a deep interest in Graphic Design and Illustration, I aspire to work within the music industry to create imagery for musicians and bands under the broad umbrella of rock. My image-making is often highly experimental and expressive, with strong overtones of surrealism and dark, abstract concepts.
